Justice Served

Congrats to Chris Carpenter on winning the NL Cy Young award. He had a fine season, and has been rewarded justly. He also becomes the first New Hampshire native to win the award. Chris Carpenter 2005 21-5, 2.83 ERA, 213 K, 51 BB, 241.2 IP Live Free or Die, dear friend.
And remarkably, the sportswriters show consistency by not giving Roger Clemens the award, seeing as he has the same case Randy Johnson had last year (except for the fact Carp exceeded Rocket in statistics besides wins, someting Roger couldn't say when compared to Unit in '04).

I thought for sure they'd give it to Roger by switching their criteria, just like they do every year to screw Albert out of his MVP.
Maybe all those innings put them over the edge, or maybe they just felt like years of voting for Clemens was getting old.
My bet is the IP comparison sealed the deal for Carp. He was more of a "horse" this year than Clemens.
Frankly, I was surprised he won,but thrilled, nonetheless. I thought for sure Willis would win it since he's such a hit with the media. It seems, to me at least, that simply being really, really good isn't enough for some people.
